The Water,Sanitation and Hygiene Finance (WASH-FIN) Project is a global initiative financed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by Tetra Tech,for the Water and Development Strategy (WDS) Priority Countries in Asia and Africa. The mission of WASH-FIN is to foster the transformation of water, sanitation and hygiene services delivery in the WDS countries in Africa and Asia to close financing gaps in the WASH sector through: 1) assisting governments and civil society organizations to track financing flows for the sector;2) mobilizing private capital and finance for unfunded WASH infrastructure investments; and 3) documenting and sharing knowledge gained in previous and current activities.
In Nepal,the program will focus on improving WASH sector financing and service delivery through the establishment of a model for WASH operations at the municipal level under therecently instituted federal structure, coupled with an improved business plan, cost reflective tariffs and possible financing from the Town Development Fund. A landscape study of fecal sludge management is also planned with recommendations for further activities. Assignment duration will be 2.5 years, starting in August or September 2017.

Team Leader
Under the direct supervision of the WASH-FIN Asia Coordinator, Washington, DC, the Team Leader will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of the project activities in the country. The Team Leader will be the main link with all partners, the USAID- Nepal Mission, and the WASH-FIN team. The Team Leader will perform a wide range of program management activities, and s/he will exercise direct oversight of project administration and financial management. S/he will supervise the full-time administrative support staff, short-term consultants, and subcontractors providing intermittent technical assistance.
Qualifications and Requirements
- University degree in Engineering or WASH-related subject or development management.
- At least ten years of experience in WASH sector of which at least 5 years’ experience in managing WASH related project.
- Excellent analytical and report writing skills.
- Prior experience in donor-funded projects is preferred.
- Fluency in English and Nepali.
