Kakani Center for Development of Community - KCDC is a Community Based, relief, development and advocacy, Non-Governmental Organization, non-profit, non-political and Voluntary Service Organization (VSO) and it was created in 1993. Their entire staffs is mobilized daily to cover the basic needs of poor vulnerable children, women, marginalized or excluded by the effects of natural disasters, wars and situations of economic collapse, poverty and injustice. KCDC is based in Bidur Chowk, operates in the areas of child development, women's empowerment, food security, health, nutrition, rehabilitation of infrastructure, shelter, water and sanitation (WASH) and economic recovery, education, elimination of child labor, safe migration, stop human trafficking, Fighting against CSEC and Recovery of Livelihood. With strong complementary technical expertise in the humanitarian field, international partner and KCDC and their common goal to provide a comprehensive response to emergency, health and nutrition, WASH, livelihood, awareness, school buildings construction, library erection, agro-forestry, child and women's empowerment, capacity building in Poor and Vulnerable Community in Nuwakot District by implementing different Program activities.
KCDC in partnership with Oxfam is implementing the Earthquake Recovery and Reconstruction Project in different VDCs of Nuwakot. KCDC is seeking to fill the following positions inviting applications from interested and highly motivated candidates.

Duration & Location: Fixed term till March 2018 base in program field in Nuwakot
Brief Description
- Overall Responsible & take lead the EFSVL programme in planning, implementing and monitoring of each and every EFSVL activities, in close coordination and consultation with Oxfam team.
- Review plan of field based staff and ensure the performance of each staffs (people management) is on track to meet program target and quality.
- Take lead role in assessment and selection of cooperatives, design cooperative strengthening and cooperative led interventions for sustainable livelihood recovery and make livelihood resilient.
- Technical backstopping to livelihood assistant and Social Mobilizes for selection verification of groups/cooperatives, irrigation schemes and implementation of interventions
- Responsible for implementation of alternative livelihood component of EFSVL program
- Identify the capacity gap of field based staff and design, propose support for capacitating them.
- Responsible for overall management of trainings like agricultural and livestock producers groups, leader farmers, cooperatives and SMMEs in consultation with Oxfam, district stakeholders.
- Take lead role on establishment of improved production plots, business plan preparation of cooperatives and SMMEs, vocational trainings as alternative source of livelihoods.
- Provide technical support to the team and manager for programme planning and implementation. This will include budgeting, development of logical frameworks and appropriate indicators,
- Support to line manager for preparing regular programme reports through updating and tracking the regular reports (both narrative and financial) as well as support to develop donor proposal and reports.
- Ensure gender equity and humanitarian principles are mainstreamed.
- Establish a good relationship with other thematic members of the different team to integrate the issues related to EFSVL and work closely with other thematic member for integration with other component like WASH, gender and protection, shelter and DRR.
- Establish and maintain good coordination with local authorities like rural municipality/ municipality, DCC as well as line agencies like DADO, DLSO, DIO, Cottage & Small Industries Office, District Cooperative Division Office and other concerned agencies for advocacy on the EFSVL issues.
- Arrange necessary documents of all EFSVL interventions, collect regular update, case stories, success stories and good practices from field staffs and submit the report to line manger as per the reporting timeline. Also, develop tools and templates for need assessment, monitoring of planned interventions and outcome tracking.
- Track expenditure for each activity under EFSVL, report the progress to TL and take pre approval from line manager in case of any changes in budget expenditure.
- Conduct regular field visit for quality assurance and onsite backstopping
- Field plan and preparation for donor visits
Eligibility
- Bachelor degree in Agriculture, Development, Management or any other relevant social science background with proven 2 years of experience working in food security and livelihood sector.
- Experience in areas related to cash transfer programmes, micro enterprise development, value chain development, cooperative strengthening, agriculture sector development and small irrigation reconstruction works, is highly preferred.
- Experience of working with market system development approach, on farm and off farm based livelihood promotion, strengthening cooperatives and farmer’s groups, land and right to food issues.
- Experience in need assessment, social research, data analysis adds value.
- Ability to work independently as required.
- Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated commitment to promote equity, gender and diversity
- Acquaintance with computer applications (at least MS Excel, MS Word and PS PowerPoint)
