This position will take the overall lead in early grade reading program related policy implementation, ICT technologies, resource management and building partnership with civil society organizations and stakeholders for improved early grade reading program.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Take the lead in all IR2 related task and activities.
- Provide technical assistance to the MOE and CLAs for developing appropriate policy and guidelines for EGRP implementation.
- Work with the M&E team to ensure progress are aligned with the targets planned in IR2 activities.
- Develop annual work plan and strategies for IR2 related activities.
- Coordinate planning and development of Annual Work Plans.
- Periodically follow-up with the MOE and CLA focal points to update EGRP progress including sharing the progress with the Steering Committee and the Technical Committee.
- Facilitate IR1, IR3 and M&E team to ensure timely and smooth implementation of EGRP activities in program districts.
- Organize, support coordinate capacity building meetings and trainings with the MOE and NEGRP partners for target districts, as well as for additional districts in the later years of program implementation.
- Work with the relevant MOE and CLAs to support ICT (software and hardware) in schools to support teaching and learning.
- Support CTA to coordinate regional and district teams to monitor their progress.
Minimum Required Education & Experience and Skill:
- Master's Degree in education, organizational development or related field with 6 years of relevant experience or Bachelor's Degree in education, organizational development or related field with 10 years of relevant experience.
- Prior experience managing donor-funded education improvement programs, preferably USAID-funded.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience about NGOs and INGOs working in Nepal.
- Demonstrated capacity to work in a team and with various partners, including government and non-government counterparts.
- Proficiency and fluency in English and Nepali. Technical expertise in one or more of the following areas: early grade reading, education systems strengthening, education performance improvement, capacity building, and national and district-level service delivery preferred.
- Prior experience with CB-EGRA and using EGRA-like assessments at the school level preferred.
- Excellent computer skills.
