Vacancy for Program Coordinator

Her Turn is hiring a Program Coordinator for a project of developing and disseminating information education communication (IEC) materials. This position is based in Kathmandu with frequent visits to Sindhupalchok and Gorkha districts. The aim of the program is to raise awareness amongst adolescents and communities in earthquake affected districts regarding the impacts of early marriage.
PROFILE:
  • A Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in education, social work or related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in and knowledge of developing IEC materials preferred.
  • Ability to work and spend time in the field in remote areas.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with partner agencies involved in the program and other stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of and interest in early marriage, child protection, women's rights, SGBV, girls' empowerment and/or other relevant subjects.
  • Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English and Nepali. Additional language proficiency (e.g. Tamang, Gurung) preferred.
  • Experience in data collection preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel).
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and cultural sensitivity in field.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and follow through.
  • Ability to multitask and very good attention to detail.
  • Ability to quickly make decisions and flexibility to react to changing circumstances.
  • Empathy, stress resilience, self-motivation, commitment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinating IEC materials development (script, translation, storyboard, illustrations) with partner organizations.
  • Data gathering and pre testing coordination.
  • Coordinating with partner agencies, district level authorities, local level stakeholders.
  • Organization of the awareness workshops in the two target districts.
  • Regular communication with Line Manager.
  • Monthly reporting.
