Contract Duration – One year (extendable) fixed term contract based in Kathmandu

 Level – C1 Job Purpose: Lead Oxfam’s gender justice programme by raising funds, planning, implementing and monitoring agreed programmes operationally and with partners in line with Oxfam’s Country Strategy for Nepal. Participate in and contribute to the development of the wider strategy for Nepal and the South Asia region.
The Role:
As a Programme Manager – Gender Justice, you will be required to strategically develop and implement a comprehensive programme in line with Oxfam’s Strategic Plan and identified local, state, national and regional priorities. You will require facilitating specific research and policy analysis for programme development on Oxfam’s priority programme themes - gender equity and social inclusion, and developing advocacy position and strategy on Oxfam's priority areas of work and effectively communicate it in various forums and mass media. You will also require representing Oxfam to build linkages, coordination and collaboration with government ministries and departments, donors, other agencies, international organisations and stakeholders at national, district and VDC level to identify advocacy and campaigning opportunities and further programme objectives.

Requirements to apply for this role are:
To be successful in this role, you must have strong conceptual, analytical and planning skills. You must have proven team leadership and ability to effectively influence outside own team; successfully represent specific programme and specific issues. You must have an understanding of the socio-economic, political and ecological conditions of the region and ability to facilitate interaction between different development practitioners of various levels with strong social skills – especially when working with community groups. Master’s Degree in Women's rights, gender studies and other relevant disciplines of social sciences with 4-5 years of experience.
