People Operational Manager-Urgent

Possible is seeking additional People Operations Managers to advance our management systems and organizational culture and to oversee people operations functions for Possible’s team in Achham and Dolakha districts, Nepal.
The Achham-based People Operations Manager will be joining a team of over 120+ full-time staff at our clinical and administrative hub in the Far-West, Bayalpata Hospital. 
The Dolakha-based People Operations Manager will be joining a small but quickly growing team in our second district, where we are rebuilding healthcare infrastructure following the devastating earthquakes of April and May 2015.

We are looking for entrepreneurial leaders who will serve as our primary ambassadors and advocates for Possible’sFor-Impact Culture Code and management and performance philosophies in Achham and Dolakha districts. Strong preference will be given to those who can prove they can operate in fast-growth environments with limited resources.

Must Haves:
  1. Commitment to Possible’s Culture & Vision: The People Operations Manager is the primary ambassador and advocate for Possible’s For-Impact Culture Code and management philosophy in the district(s) in which they work. They need to lead by example in their own conduct, hold others accountable when they fall short, and have an unshakeable commitment to the culture we are trying to build even in the face of resistance and doubt. 
  2. Superior Systems-Building Skills: The People Operations Manager is charged with designing, executing, and coaching others on smart systems (i.e. Asana, BambooHR, SOPs, etc.), and so must be incredibly savvy in their ability both to design smart systems and train others effectively.
  3. Excellent Time & Project Management Abilities: The People Operations Manager will have a large number of demands on their time and significant independence. They must be adept at managing their time and energy, accurately setting expectations with teammates, prioritizing effectively, and mapping out strategies for driving projects to completion.
  4. Courage: The People Operations Manager is responsible first and foremost for putting our patients first, and second, for putting the team as a whole above the self or any single individual. Difficult decisions will inevitably arise; the People Operations Manager must have the courage to do what’s best for our patients and best for the organization in every case.

To be succesful in People Operations at Possible, the People Operations Manager must approach their work with humility, an open mind, a customer service orientation towards their teammates, and an eagerness to learn (or unlearn!) what People Operations means as the organization evolves. 
  6. Communications Savvy: The People Operations Manager must be great at communicating in both Nepali and English and excel in both in-person and digital communications. 
Big 3 Responsibilities:
  1.  Advance Possible’s for-impact culture and management systems.
  2. Foster superior performance and accelerated professional growth for all teams and colleagues.
  3. Develop Possible’s talent recruitment strategy and lead execution for locally-sourced positions.
 Areas of Responsibility (AoRs):
  1. Advance Possible’s for-impact culture and management systems.
    1. Coach teams and colleagues on the effective utilization of Asana, Objectives & Key Results (OKRs), 1:1s, and other staples of Possible’s management system.
    2. Ensure that the People Operations team leads by superb example in terms of embodying the For-Impact Culture Code.
    3. Craft, communicate, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the actualization of all people operations policies; revise as needed.
    4. Make recommendations to the Director of People Operations for the improvement of the Employee Handbook on a quarterly basis.
    5. Professionalize, digitize, and accurately maintain all administrative systems within people operations (i.e. employee files / data, leave, payroll, etc.) by effectively utilizing BambooHR or superior tools.
    6. Lead onboarding and offboarding processes for all incoming / outgoing team members.
    7. Support leaders in crafting and conducting high-quality, professional, branded presentations on our work.
  1. Foster superior performance and accelerated professional growth for all teams and colleagues.
    1. Execute performance evaluations and 360-degree reviews semi-annually for the entire team in your specific district.
    2. Support fellow leaders in executing promotions, transfers, corrective action, and termination processes.
    3. Make recommendations to higher management within People Operations regarding promotions, transfers, and termination of staff.
    4. Assist in the design and lead in the execution of a strategy for internal trainings (i.e. Asana, OKRs,1:1s, etc.).
    5. Support team members in identifying and securing external professional development opportunities.
  1. Develop Possible’s talent recruitment strategy and lead execution for locally-sourced positions.
    1. Coach Hiring Leads on Possible’s talent philosophy and recruitment templates in Asana.
    2. Conduct initial interviews / screenings for certain positions as determined by the Director of People Operations.
    3. Further develop Possible’s job boards database.
    4. Publish vacancy notices utilizing Possible’s job boards database.
    5. Contribute to the development and maintenance of Possible’s Talent List for Nepal Positions.
The above list of responsibilities is not comprehensive, and the People Operations Manager may be required to take on additional responsibilities, as determined by the Director of People Operations.
Location:
Achham District: Our Achham-based POM will spend 75% - 100% time in rural Achham District, Far-Western Nepal.
Dolakha District: Our Dolakha-based POM will initially spend roughly 50% time in Dolakha District and 50% time in Kathmandu, though eventually will be 75% - 100% Dolakha-based.
