Area Programme Manager -Urgent

Forum for Rural Welfare and Agricultural Reform for Development (FORWARD Nepal) is a national non-governmental organization working in the fields of agriculture, food and nutrition security, livelihoods, forestry, natural resource management, and climate change for the last 18 years. One of its current major projects is the implementation of "Forest-based Enterprise Promotion" of Multi Stakeholder Forestry Programme (MSFP) in Bajura and Doti districts. MSFP is a joint programme of Government of Nepal in collaboration with the Governments of Finland, Switzerland and the UK, which aims to maximize the contribution of Nepal's Forestry Sector to inclusive economic growth, poverty reduction and tackling climate change. For MSFP, FORWARD Nepal is looking for experienced and qualified candidates for the position of "Area Programme Manager (APM)" with the following requirements.
Key Responsibilities: The APM is expected to provide strategic leadership and guidance in the MSFP implementation, monitoring and evaluation, reporting and ensure that MSFP make a notable contribution to reducing poverty - generating household income and employment opportunities, and improving livelihood security, especially among the disadvantaged groups in Bajura and Doti districts. The APM is responsible for establishing and maintaining congenial working relationships with the government officials, donors, media, local NGO partners and other key stakeholders.
Qualification and Experiences: Masters degree in Forestry, Natural Resource Management, Agriculture or other relevant field with minimum 5 years of experience (or Bachelors degree with at least 10 years of experience) in management of the forestry, NTFPs-value chains, NRM and/or Agriculture related programme. Candidates must have experience and commitment to work in the remote areas, with poor and disadvantaged groups.
The position is based in Doti with frequent travels to project sites in Bajura and Doti.
