WASH Officer-1(pos)
Under the supervision of the Emergency WASH
Specialist, the purpose of the job is to support and provide technical
specialist services in WASH Disaster Risk Management (DRM) and in WASH
emergency preparedness and response, as well as to provide related
capacity building to partners and multiple levels and monitor WASH DRM
and Emergency activities supported through UNICEF and WASH Cluster.
The incumbent of the post is accountable for professional technical contribution to Emergency/DRM programme/project design, planning, administration and monitoring of WASH programme/project activities, data analysis and progress reporting, and commitment for enhancement of teamwork and capacity building, in support of achievement of planned objectives of the work plan, aligned with country programme goals and strategy.
General Requirements:

- University degree in Engineering, Environmental Engineering/Management, Sanitary Engineering Disaster Risk Management, Social Sciences or a field relevant to international WASH related development assistance or Humanitarian assistance. Additional training in Health Education or Communication for Development (Programme Communication), an asset
- One (1) year of experience in WASH related program implementation, including experience in WASH in Emergencies and/or in Disaster Risk Management integration in WASH program especially with Government and/or UN or INGOs. Familiarity with UNICEF working processes and programs an added value.

- The candidate must have excellent command of written and spoken English and Nepali.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization.
