FHI 360, an international NGO, is seeking highly qualified and dynamic Nepali citizen for the following position to join its team:
Team Leader–Capacity Building– 1 position (based in Kathmandu)
The Team Leader (TL) is responsible for leading, managing and documenting the process of capacity building, including the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of overall capacity building-related policies, strategies, approaches, and program activities for FHI 360 Implementing Agencies (IAs) and Government Partners. S/he will work closely with different teams for capacity strengthening of IAs and other relevant agencies, in a structured, systematic and effective manner and will be responsible to:

S/he will work closely with different teams for capacity strengthening of IAs and other relevant agencies, in a structured, systematic and effective manner and will be responsible to:
- Lead the design of a project capacity building framework, refine the framework over time and guide the relevant unit staff members in the implementation of the framework.
- Ensure that capacity building strategies and activities are reflected in FHI 360 project / program sub-agreements and implemented in accordance with the USAID-approved work plan, with a flexible approach that takes into consideration any changes in the donor funding landscape over the five-year period.
- Propose state-of-the-art capacity building initiatives, approaches and strategies that focus on the sustainability of health outcomes.
- Work closely with FHI 360 Program and other specialized Units to identify capacity strengthening needs/requirements for FHI 360 IAs and other key stakeholders in organizational development, systems strengthening and HIV related institutional capacity building.
- Develop and ensure implementation of internship plan.
- Assist in developing and inculcating organization-wide thinking of a comprehensive approach to capacity building.
- Identify and facilitate the planning of technical assistance & consultants (local, regional and international) in accordance with program needs and work plans.
- Visit FHI 360 IAs on a regular basis to ensure appropriate Technical Assistance is provided for capacity strengthening activities.
Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in public health, social science or related field with 5-7 years of experience in development sector with an emphasis on capacity building and experience in program management, organizational development, project cycle management, organizational assessments, strategic planning, training design, implementation & monitoring and NGO capacity building. Knowledge and experience of HIV and other relevant health programs in developing countries, especially in Asia. Sensitivity to cultural differences and understanding of the political and ethical issues surrounding research in HIV.
Skills/Qualities:
Should have strong negotiation, coordination, communication and interpersonal skills and should be resourceful in resolving problems and initiating solutions. Ability to work in teams and develop and maintain positive working relationships. Proactive and independent approach to work with willingness to undertake additional responsibilities and perform multiple tasks. Excellent verbal and written communication skills both in English and Nepali.
