Youth Programme Manager
VSO is the world’s
leading independent international development organisation that works
through volunteers to fight poverty in developing countries. Our
high-impact approach brings people together to share skills, build
capabilities, promote international understanding and action to change
lives and make the world a fairer place. VSO Nepal has worked in Nepal
since 1964 to improve the lives of impoverished pecple some of the
country’s poorest districts, particularly focusing on vulnerable women
and girls and other marginalised groups.
VSO Nepal
is currently implementing International Citizen Service (ICS) along
with Health, Secure Livelihoods and Education programmes with Gender and
Climate Change as cross- cutting themes.
International
Citizen Service (ICS) is a youth volunteering project for 18-25 year
olds funded by the UK government and led by VSO. Groups of young people
from the UK will join a group of young people from Nepal, to live, learn
and work together on community based development projects. Through
living and working alongside communities, ICS action learners gain
firsthand knowledge and experience of good practice in development work
and are in turn able to make practical and meaningful contributions to
the communities in which they work. They return to their home
communities motivated to play a part in local and ‘global action.
VSO Nepal is looking for substantially experienced and highly qualified candidates to apply for the post of Youth Programme Manager.
Based in
its country office in Kathmandu, reporting to th Country Director, the
person is responsible for development, implementation and coordination
of International Citizenship Service (ICS) project of VSO Nepal.
Major
Responsibilities of this post include programme and partnership
development, programme planning, implementation, review and volunteer
management.
You must
have masters degree in a relevant subject with proven experience of
youth programme management. Your proven experience of working
cross-culturally, promoting learning and report writing is a must.
