Educational Description

  • Master's degree in one of the following agriculture, natural resources management, Microfinance, local governance, social protection or the realeted field

Job Specification

  • Minimum four years experience in INGOs with focus on inclusive livelihoods, local governance and social protection in low income countries, policy/strategy guidance; interacting with government, and/or external development partners
  • Experience in managing technical resources
  • Practical experience of working with people with disabilities and other marginalized groups will be an asset.
  • Track record in project design, proposal writing and management
  • Ability to articulate technical input and communicate with impact
  • Ability to anticipate and take the right initiatives autonomously
  • Ability to work with different teams and have impact without management responsibilities

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic technical guidance to HI and to external stakeholders in ways that assert Hl’s legitimacy and added value in livelihoods, local governance and social protection
  • Network with donors, government and INGOs in all relevant forums to raise Hl’s profile
  • Design new projects in these technical areas and secure funding

Specific Requirement

Conditions, Salary & Benefits:
  • Based in Kathmandu with travels to other parts of Nepal as required

  • Duration of the contract for all positions is initially for 1 year with possible extension
