Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) in Nepal is
providing Technical Assistance (TA) and grant supports to the Government
of Nepal (GoN) through Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local
Development and its Department of Local Infrastructure Development and
Agricultural Roads to implement the Decentralized Rural Infrastructure
and Livelihood Project-Additional Financing in different districts of
Nepal funded by ADB, OFID, SDC and GON.

Educational Description
- The CDS will have as a minimum qualification of a Masters degree in relevant subjects from a recognized institute.
Job Specification
- The CDS will have at least 10 years of professional experience of working in rural sector. Experience of at least 3 years in the in the rural road sector with labour based approach is required. The CDS will have knowledge of Government’s as well as ADB’s social safeguards policies, and procedures for implementation of rural road projects. The CDS will have previous experience of on the job mentoring of the social mobilisers working in rural sector. The CDS will have excellent computer skills, excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Nepali, strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team. The CDS shall be sensitive to gender and social inclusion issues. The CDS will have ability to work independently with good interpersonal skills. S/he is required to spend most of the time in assigned project districts directly overseeing the planning and implementation of project activities related to social safeguards.
