Educational Description

  • University degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Governance, Public Administration, Public Policy, Social Policy, Social Development, Community Development or other related disciplines with specialized training in conflict resolution

Job Specification

  • Minimum of two years of relevant professional work experience in project management including monitoring and evaluation. Experience in decentralization, governance, social policy, including child friendly local governance at the national, regional and district level is desired. Knowledgeable and experience on LGCDP and other decentralized programme is an asset
  • The candidate must have excellent written and spoken English/ Nepali skills
  • Knowledge of Rights-based and Results-based approach and programming
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization

The post incumbent will provide professional technical assistance and support for the Government’s Child-Friendly Local Governance (CFLG) framework within related decentralization programmes and policies with a focus on social mobilization, social auditing and child participation elements including design, planning and implementation, management and evaluation of activities, data analysis and progress reporting, in support of achievement of UNICEF goals and objectives at the Regional, district and below level, in line with Government planning process and mechanisms in relation to the CFLG framework and Operational guidelines
