REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
Mercy Corps is an international, non-governmental humanitarian relief and development agency that exists to alleviating suffering, poverty and oppression by helping people build secure, productive, and just communities. Mercy Corps works in 41 countries, and has been present in Nepal since 2005. Mercy Corps current work in Nepal focuses on the sectors of economic and food security; climate, natural resource and disaster risk management; youth engagement; with the inclusion of women and disadvantaged groups as important cross-cutting themes throughout each intervention area. Mercy Corps invites proposals from consultants/firms for designing financial literacy training curriculum, training manual and course materials and delivering two sessions of TOT under a financial literacy project’- funded by the Western Union Foundation. The project targets women SACCO (Saving and Credit Cooperatives) members of recently formed and registered SACCOs in Bhojpur and Tehrathum districts with potential for replication in other parts of Nepal. In order to enhance and strengthen the money-management skills, knowledge and attitudes of women members of rural SACCOs, Mercy Corps intends to train members of SACCOs to sensitize them and make them able to make informed decisions related to money management and best use of available financial services. This is a short-term assignment for a period of approximately 60 days.
