DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION / REQUIREMENTS:

ASN has been engaged in developing and implementing programs aimed at protection, promotion and fulfillment of child rights in Nepal. Currently ASN has been working in 17 districts under 6 Thematic Areas as: Education/Child Protection, Women Empowerment, Livelihood/ Natural Resource Management, Disaster Risk Reduction, Health/ Nutrition and Good Governance.

Aasaman Nepal with Good Neighbors International Nepal is implementing the “Integrated Community Development Project” in Dhanusha District. The overall objective of the project is to improve wellbeing of children, their families and communities. The Aasaman Nepal is looking for the self-motivated, result oriented and hard-working Nepali citizen for the following positions:

1.  Assistant- Public Health – One

Job Description 

The incumbent will be mainly focused on the following major duties and responsibilities. 

Planning and Implementation:

  • Design health and WASH related plan of action (PoA) and execute accordingly in the target areas. 
  • Develop contents for educational activities and awareness campaign.
  • Revitalize community groups like health mother group (HMG), Health Facility Operation Management Committee (HFOMC), W/S-WASH-CC.

Training and Development: 

  • Conduct orientation, training, interaction and discussion for sensitizing communities on Public Health Issues.
  • Facilitate to mobilize FCHVs and HMGs. 
  • Facilitate workshop and training for enhancing capacity of FCHVs, HMGs, W/S-WASH-CCs, HFOMCs, PMCs, child club members, parents and community.  

MEAL

  • Carry-out periodical assessment of project in order to assess the gap in operational practices of project interventions. 
  • Collect and compile training need assessment for FCHVs, HMG, HFOMC, ORC Management committees, Health Workers and W/S-WASH-CC.
  • Conduct field visits to observe, monitor and evaluate the project interventions and utilization status.
  • Submit periodic reports as per project requirement. 
  • Compile experiences, lessons learnt, best practices and success stories of project.
  • Assist in feasibility study of infra activities.
  • Review physical and financial progress of project interventions. 

Collaboration and Coordination

  • Extend coordination with concerned local government, schools, health facilities, community networks and other likeminded organizations, civil society and seek collaboration.
  • Participate in the programs/ meeting and discussions held at district, R/M, community level and share the learnings/ experiences. 

Qualification and required skills:

Education:

Intermediate in Health Education, Health Assistant or related field 

Experience:

  • At least two years in relevant field
  • In-depth knowledge of community health
  • Hands on experience in social mobilization
  • a.  Proficiency in MS word, excel, PowerPoint, email and internet.

2.  Community Facilitator – One

Job Description 

The incumbent will be mainly focused on the following major duties and responsibilities

CIF (New Child Enrollment)


  • Collect preliminary survey data of disadvantage group (DAG) children through home visit. 
  • Update CIF related information of selected new children
2.Home Visit & Counseling
  • Home Visit of sponsored children and updates the information
  • Provide counseling to sponsored children & their family. 
3.ACL, APR, GML
  • Conduct annual child letter, annual progress report, gift money and letter preparation. 
4.Special Case Management
  • Find out the cases for special support and report to the respective personnel.
5.Community Mobilization
  • Facilitate participation of community members in project intervention and local planning.
6.Assist Implementation of Project Activities
  • Implement child protection activities at community level 
  • Assist child club in conducting regular meetings, co-curricular activities and awareness raising events.
  • Assist implementation of project activities (Education, Public Health and Income generation) at community level.
7.Observation, follow up and reporting
  • Observe utilization status of support provided by projects 
  • Collect required information & data of projects
  • Prepare & submit periodical reports.

Languages: Strong command of Nepali, English (oral and written) and local language preferred/required.
